The First Weeks Home

And then there were three...
David had said a few months into the pregnancy that it was important to him to have some time just the three of us as a family before our parents arrived for their visits.  I’m so glad he did because that first week home was a very special time for us.

We took the time to start to get to know Sydney and to figure out how the three of us would cope as a family.  There are so many adjustments to be made when your perfect little family of two becomes three... I think that time in the beginning, although no long enough, was so important to start us on the journey to figuring it all out.

We managed to get ourselves out of the house during that first week home to have newborn pictures taken.  Although expensive, we both think they were worth every penny.  Sydney was a champ - she’s so photogenic!  The photographer, Marie Ramos was so pleased with her as a subject that she took twice as many pictures as she normally does for a session (300!).  We had so many amazing shots to chose from!  Here are a few.
Look at those eyes!

There are only a few times in a woman’s life where she can boast about weight loss at a rapid rate - post pregnancy is one of them.  I had lost half of my pregnancy weight by the time Sydney was 11 days old!  Even better, I can actually wear my wedding rings again!  Yippee! :)
